Table Games

The "Trouble" with Puzzles for me is that there is always a missing piece. So, I took puzzle pieces, a end flap of the game "TROUBLE" and made a tag that illustrates my frustration! (I am also frustrated because I have "Lost " my post twice now! ARRG! (to both puzzles and technology!)

Wishing you all a creative week!
xo, Mary Ann

I FOUND ONE OF MY "LOST" DRAFTS!  Here it is explaining my process...
I am a very competitive person. Even my kids make fun of the way I hate to lose which is why I don't play games very often. (If I don't play, I can't lose!) But one of the things I did with my kids when they were little were puzzles. But it always seemed as though we were missing the last piece. So, for my tag, I took an old puzzle and glued it together with one piece missing. Then I look the end of our "Trouble" game box, beat it up just a bit more and  aged it with Tim Holtz's old paper and vintage photo distressed ink. I used rub on letters to make the box piece read, "The TROUBLE with puzzles is there's always a missing piece. I took a photo of the puzzle and printed it out with "ARRG! Why does this always happen? Where is that missing piece?" over it. I glued this to the back of part of the puzzle. Then I hole punched each piece, including the missing piece and tied them together with doodle twine.

  6. What a great fun tag Mary Ann! I love how it tells a tale. You have invented the best way to keep hold of that pesky vanishing last piece. Open the box and then tie it up with the pretty thread!!

  8. Very clever tag. I also get frustrated with lost puzzle pieces, especially in my classroom, where my students often loose a piece. Blessings!

  12. Love this tag! Really fun, and encapsulates the frustration of jigsaws. When I was teaching 4 year olds there was one puzzle they could never do, do if anyone started it, I knew I would have to finish it!
