Theatre and Cinema

Such a lovely challenge, too many wonderful plays, too many wonderful films - I went into inspiration overload trying to choose! In the end I decided to incorporate a few of my favourite actors because what is a film or a play with out them, however well written? So I managed to fussy cut tiny photos of some of them to adhere to film ribbon, can you spot amongst them  Morgan Freeman, Red in the wonderful Shawshank Redemption, Robin Williams in Good Morning Vietnam, Tom Hanks in just about everything he does, Hugh Grant Notting Hill, Richard Gere Pretty Woman, Jack Nicholson A Few Good Men and the LARGE award and picture to Alan Rickman portrayed here as Snape in the amazing Harry Potter films, which took my imagination out of my head and put it onto the screen. In my view the best cast films ever, each actor was perfect for the part.

First I stained a tag with antique linen and tea stain distress inks and edged with walnut stain then stamped some film ribbon and the words 'capture the moment' in brown archival, which I promptly covered over with the pictures - but I know it's there! I stapled the film ribbon on, stamped an old film camera onto foam squares for dimension , added Alan on a small bulldog clip and shrank down the film guide from out local paper. I photographed it against black felt to symbolise entering the lovely dark world of the cinema from which we get transported to other worlds!
I have left too many wonderful films out, the tags would have gone on forever. I am going to so enjoy your wonderful work this week! x
