clocks

My first idea for this week was to take parts of a watch and have them all springing out of my tag. But, then I decided that this was too similar to my "Spring" tag. Instead I went with "Hickory Dickory Dock" for my  theme. I drew a Grandfather clock with Conte crayons and a black marker. I aged the tag using TIm Holtz distressed inks ( Linen, Vintage Photo and Walnut). I roughed up the edges and  rubbed Black Soot distressed ink around them.  "Glass" (aka Plastic Wrap) was inserted in "door" from the back. A Silver brad and strip of metal made the pendulum. The poem was placed behind  with a couple of layers of foam tape to give it depth and dimension. A wooden clock face, some gears, the number "1" and a little gray mouse made from magic model and flock completed the tag. Unfortunately, it didn't photograph very well.

After photographing my tag, I wasn't really happy with it, so I made another tag. This ended up being two  connected tags. For the first and larger one, I used rub-ons that I only partially rubbed on for the background that was "aged" with distressed inks. I then stamped and embossed on the word "Time" on it. Some clock bits finished the first of the two tags.  I used stamps (I ran out of rub-ons) for the background of the second tag, and finished it in the same manner as the first. It turned out nicely but again, it didn't photograph well (I think maybe it's the photographer :D !)

I guess it's true that time really does fly. It's late and I need to get to sleep! I can't wait to see everyone's tags! And, thank you all for your kind words last week.

Wishing you all an especially creative week!
Best, Mary Ann

  4. Great tags maryann. The grandfather clock is a fab idea and with the rhyme inside too! It's getting harder to get a decent photograph what with Autumn arriving and the days duller altogether. (well that's my excuse anyway) :0)
