SMELLY SEED HEADS

I won't be keeping my tag this week as its a bit smelly.

As you can see I've used a real seed head and its very pungent even though I think its very pretty it will have to go.

These are some dried poppy heads I collected, drilled through and attached to a canvas.

  1. Hi Liz, Just thought I would take the time to visit you here and follow along. Love your creative tag. Sad that it has an off smell. Maybe if you sprayed it with hairspray it would go away. Not sure. It really is wonderful though.
Thank you for stopping by and your kind comment for my white post.

The lace chair is actually a queen size bedspread I found in mint condition in an antique mall. I used it to cover my studio chair and pinned and tucked in place to give a new look. I did not want to sew or cut it in case I decide to use it in another way later. You know I change my mind like that. LOL~~ I do really love it this way for now.

  2. Great tag! Maybe that smell will go away over time-- can you leave in a garage or somewhere??

  3. Can you not dry press the plant? I know it won't look as good as it does here but you will be able to keep it then as it's a lovely tag. x

  4. Hahaha, that made me laugh, but it is a beautiful seed head. Is it a leek Lynn? It reminds me of the ones I have drying in my shed. I agree with Diane - try putting it out of the house for a while ;) The tag itself is very pretty and I love what you did with the poppy heads. Do you have a picture of the canvas or is it unfinished as yet? :0) xx

  5. Hi Lynn, What a beautiful tag :) I was just about to suggest the same, about leaving it in the garage or outhouse to dry out. It would be a shame not to keep it.
I love too what you have did with the poppy seed heads they look like rusty bells!

  6. Your tag is beautiful, even if it is smelly, I assume it is an onion of some kind? I hope you are able to dry it out and keep it, (in the kitchen maybe?) Unusual idea of what to do with poppy seed heads! Fantastic,, Jane xx

  7. Yes it really is a beautiful tag, Lynn. Will the previous suggestion of sealing it save it from being discarded! The poppy seed heads on canvas make a strikingly artistic pattern - very effective

  10. Pretty flower, too bad it smells. Great idea to drill a hole in the poppy heads and use as a decoration.
