Celestial

First of all, doesn't the blog look Gorgeous?! And I love the rest of this month's themes - thanks again Carolyn for all the inspiration.
This week's tag came together very quickly (quickly for me anyway!)
We just got home this afternoon from a peaceful weekend in the Norfolk countryside, far away from any kind of light pollution, so the Sky At Night is really beautiful.
As soon as we got home, I unpacked, slung some washing in the machine, made a coffee and headed for my workroom. Here is what I came up with
Several colours of Distress Inks were applied to the tag using torn paper masks (and a circle cut from a Post-It Note for the moon), then the little tree was stamped with Archival Ink.
This technique was adapted from a half-remembered tutorial by a very clever lady who was teaching at a craft show I went to at the Ally Pally a couple of years ago. To my shame, my sieve-like brain can't remember her name just at this moment, but it will come back to me ... I even bought the DVD, but can't find that either - it's probably in a safe place ... with my lost marbles ...
Anyway, some silver stars from an old pair of broken earrings were added to the bottom and the tag was finished with a piece of sparkly ribbon tied through the top.
Thanks for looking, can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with
Annie :o)

  8. Beautiful night sky scene. The background turned out really well, and I adore the beautiful trees. I'd love to know which stamp you used for that.

  11. Thanks everyone for the kind comments - Lululiz the stamp was from Clarity Stamps I think and the clever lady who taught us the technique was Barbara Gray - SO inspiring!
