Winter Landscape

Greetings!  For this week's tag, I used a print of a 5x7" watercolour scene of a snowman and cardinal looking at the Christmas Star.  I actually started the piece a couple of years ago to use it on printed greeting cards, but I ran out of time.  (I may still do that latter.)  I hadn't really thought about it much, until Carolyn Saxby asked us to use a "Winter Landscape" theme for this week's tag design.  I dug it out of a portfolio, finished it, scanned it, matted it digitally, and made a postcard size print to use as my tag base.  I used strips of a Christmas card stock print by DCWV and red satin ribbon to trim it.  Then, I added a die-cut flower as an embellishment.  The sentiment, "tried and true," is from a K&Company set.  I used it as a reminder of our Savior's unconditional love for us.  I formed a tag shape by rounding the top corners, punching a hole in the central part of the top, and adding a matching ribbon tie.  I am using the tag as a Christmas ornament.

By the way, I submitted the origami embellished tags that I made for our "Keeping Warm" theme last week to the Crazy Amigo Challenge: Gift and was selected as one of their top 3 entries.  Thank you for the inspiration, Carolyn.  Have a blessed week!

  2. What a delightful tag - beautifully put together, the ribbon is a lovely touch and I like the way it picks out the red of the bird.
