I is for.....

Hi everyone, thank you so much for your supportive comments last week. There is only one essential oil under the I banner and that is Immortelle. This beautiful oil comes from the Helichrysum Angustifolium  plant and has a strongly woody smell with a hint of spice. It is also known as 'Italian Everlasting' and has dark yellow flowers silver-green pepper scented leaves. It is said to relieve the effects of shock and fears and phobias and help to lift depression. It is also an oil that rejuvenates cell growth and helps to rebuild tissues and energise the organs of the body. It has a wonderful effect on skin and is very good for mature skins especially! A famous French pefumers, L'Occitane En Provence sell a beautiful collection of anti-ageing solutions using this essential oil. Last year their Immortelle Garden won a gold medal at Chelsea Flower show and was a beautiful rhapsody in yellow! With this in mind my tag is based on golden yellows and I  have tried to reproduce a ladies dressing table set in the early part of the twentieth century!

I covered the base of the tag with a faded yellow paper and stamped flowers in the corners. I used a vanity mirror from a handbag and framed it with a die cut that I painted with Walnut Stain. I made a dressing table from cardboard and gold beads and stamped an old fashioned perfume set that I adhered with sticky fixers. The hat is a circle of Aida fabric with black lace and ribbon and I found an old dolls house oil lamp. I tried to take me looking in the mirror but the camera kept getting in the way! Off now to enjoy your lovely I's, have a good week every one. x
