Letter M ...

Hi everyone! Long long time no see - I've really missed my Tag Tuesday Therapy, but I'm back on board now if you'll have me :o)
There's been so much going on here I can't believe how many tags I missed, but the lovely long bank holiday weekend gave me a chance to catch up and I've made FIVE tags!!!
So here's this week's letter M ... is for Money. Strange idea for a tag maybe, but it popped out and filled my head with song lyrics so I just couldn't shake it off.
Money makes the world go around ... In a rich man's world ... If I were a rich man ... Hey big spender ... in the end I went with an old Beatles tune ...
Money Can't Buy You Love. I hasten to add that I did not sacrifice a real tenner in the making of this tag (I may not care too much for money but I'm not crazy!)
No - this was made with a napkin printed with a replica ten pound note, which I've been hoarding ever since I ferreted it away in my handbag at a wedding reception years ago, thinking it might come in handy for something. It's been ModPodged onto the background and then titivated with gesso and Distress Inks. The plain black alphas have been randomly heat embossed with copper (they melted a bit but I quite liked the effect so I went with it!). Finally it was dotted with sequin "coins" and finished with ribbon which has a metal strip running through it, like a real bank note. Here's a close up
Now, speaking of things which money can't buy- here's last week's letter L ... is for Love
This beautiful passage from Corinthians was one of the readings at our wedding and I've photographed it against the Bible which the Church gave to us as a wedding gift.
This was an experiment with a "kissing" stamp technique (appropriately enough!), so that the words would appear to continue across the stamped butterflies
Speaking of "tying the knot" brings me neatly to the letter K ... is for Knot (ok so that was a bit of a tenuous link!) and a cute little stamp I've been wanting to use for ages
Lots of fun with stamping and inking again and I photographed this one against a gorgeous old children's book which is one of my treasures (you see I love my Kindle but it could never replace this)
Continuing the theme of love and weddings - the letter J ... is for Joy
This one was inspired by Our Tune, "You Are My Joy", which was played for our first married dance ...
... and finally I can't link this one at all (white weddings, icing on the cake ... no I give up)
The letter I ... is for ICE - it's still FREEZING here in Norfolk, though thankfully bright and sunny now. The photo doesn't really show the details very well, but I made a lovely mess creating layers of texture and sparkle with stamps and embossing and texture paste and tissue ... oooh what a lovely time I had!

Well, if you're still reading this you're a hero! All this time away and now I can't shut up! Ok, I'm off to check out what I've missed now.
All the best to everyone - enjoy the spring sunshine, but take a scarf!

  1. Great catch up post! All the tags are gorgeous, but the MONEY tag is my favourite. It is such a neat idea and I just love everything about it. One problem, that tune is stuck in my head now...

  9. Hi Annie - welcome back - lovely post! You did have a wonderful crafty holiday!! Love the kissing stamp technique and how the butterflies then do not interfere with the beautiful words. Hope Norfolk is thawing out - we need Spring where is she hiding I wonder?
