N is for.....

Hi everyone. In by the skin of my teeth as they say! I have been on a lovely holiday with my eldest daughter Kate leaving my dear hubby in charge of the cats and the remote control lol! We went to Italy and Greece and I managed to take photographs of orange trees with a mixture of oranges and blossom on which was quite apt as I want to use Neroli as my N essential oil. The small white flowers of the Bitter Orange evergreen tree are used for this oil and it has a wonderful scent and is used in over 12% of high quality perfumes used today. As we walked about the air was heavy with its beautiful smell. It takes about 1000lbs. of blossom to make 1lb. of Neroli oil, hence its high price in an unadulterated form. It is very relaxing which could be the reason I slept so well while we were away!
It is an antidepressant and is good for chronic depression, fear and stress. It can treat headaches, vertigo and neuralgia. A very good tonic that it is helpful in convalescing. It is another oil that is very good for the skin and can help to prevent stretch marks and broken capillaries. It can also relax and calm the digestive tract and helps with collitis and stomach upsets.

Firstly, please forgive the untrimmed photo, I am using my Cannon and cannot get into the usual photoshop I use. Secondly I wish you could smell my tag as I have sprayed it with some Jo Malone Orange Blossom spray I treated myself to in Duty Free. I used a photo of a tree with an orange and some blossom for the background, painted up a book plate to frame the stamped word across the orange and found some pretty orange ribbons for the top and placed my delicious perfume bottle at the bottom. Please forgive me if I don't manage to comment on all your lovely N's as I usually do, I have a mountain of washing and am trying to get back into work mode! Hopefully I will be back to normal tomorrow for the O's. Love to you all. x

  2. Beautiful colours Barbara. Sounds like you had a wonderfully aromatic holiday. Such a shame to have to catch up on washing now you're home. With a bit of jiggery pokery, this tag could cover you for O too, no? Orange? :0) Mo

  4. I love Jo Malone anything!! Wonderful scents. I keep trying to get my daughter to draw lemon trees for me (the orange trees made me think of this) but she says she gets bored drawing so many lemons. I enjoy seeing your tags. Thanks for visiting me. Patty
