Letter S

Hi Everyone!
I enjoyed your R tags, and look forward to your S tags.
I have been art trailing again this week, both South Oxfordshire and our local group of artists, Caversham Arts Trail. I have had such a lovely time viewing art works from a variety of disciplines and meeting the artists and makers.
The river was still on my mind for this week's tag, so;-

S is for Swan
I love to see the swans swimming in the river, they are so graceful and balletic in their movements. I made a collaged swan using tissue paper, covered over with tulle. I placed my swan on a background of Pelmet Vilene which I coloured with Inktense pencils. The photograph was taken against a hand painted silk scarf which I bought on one of the Arts Trails. The swan is very small and delicate ( only about 2 inches by 2 inches) so I have put in a close up.
Do you have Open Studios or Arts Trails in other parts of the world? They are quite popular here in the UK.

I have added a link to both the Arts Trails I mentioned.

  5. Your collaged swan is very graceful and elegant - so lovely. We have art trails here, not sure they are the same as in UK?

  8. Great tag! Love the colour and texture of the river in the background, It really make the beautiful little swan stand out. I like all the texture you have got using the tissue paper and the tulle together on the swans body .

  9. Beautiful swan love the detailed texture. Background scarf is perfect. Dorset Arts Week is held every other year, so have to wait till May 2014, but there's always other creative events happening! Jane xx
