S is for.....

Hi everyone, hasn't the week flown! Here we are on S and I have chosen Sandalwood essental oil this week. It is a lovely oil, one of my favourites, and has a harmonizing and calming effect, which is why it is in much demand as an incense. It is useful for chest complaints as it has a good effect on the mucus membranes of the pulmonary system so is brilliant for bronchitis and asthma and chest infections including sore throats and dry coughs. The other system that is helped by this lovely oil is the urinary tract, so it can be of benefit to cystitis and bladder infections. On the skin it can help to relieve itching and inflammation and is a great anti-ageing componant of skin care.

The best Sandalwood oil comes from India and so I stamped a letter from India on the background and then swooshed it through Rusty Hinge and Antique Bronze distress stain as the oil is a lovely yellow gold colour. Then I coloured in an Indian fan and added jewels. The Elephant is coloured with my inktense pencils and sakura pens and layered on sticky fixers. I stamped Sandalwood onto a lolly stick, cut it to size and edged it with gold paint. I added black swirls of gems and little bronze mother-of-pearl discs to the bottom. The tie is a piece of sari ribbon and I hunted out some matching beads from my stash.
Thank you dear friends for your lovely comments last week, I have to go to work now so shall be back later to enjoy your sessess!! Have a lovely week, hasn't it turned cold! x
