T is for.....

Hi everyone, hope you all had a good week. I am in slightly silly mode (must be the weather!) and as I have chosen Tea Tree oil for this week I decided to illustrate it thus!

004
Well, how else could I do it but with a die cut tree and lots of tea-pots hanging from it! They were the hardest bit as very fiddly to cut, but the background is simples and painted on with distress paints and suggestion of grass in the foreground.
Australian Aborigines long recognised the benefits of the small tree that is similar to a Cypress. I read somewhere once that Australian soldiers were issued with the oil in their knapsacks during the Second World War, but I can't confirm this. However the oil is antibiotic, antiviral, antiseptic and
a fungacide and Insectacide, so it covers a lot of ailments including influenza, colds, cold sores, athletes foot, thrush, cystitis and relieves the itching from chicken pox and insect bites, so would have been a wonderful addition to the soldiers kit. It is also used in many preperations commercially to help acne, impetigo, dandruff and many other skin problems. Bugs don't like the smell and I use a lovely Tea Tree skin cream on my Persian cat Molly, who gets itchy spots in the summer! I  shall enjoy looking at your T's later. Got to admit I'm having nightmares about next week, what on earth can I do for U?! Back to the drawing board, thank you for all your lovely comments last week. x
