Letter Y

Y is for Yam Daisy - the 25th in the Australian plant series . The Yam Daisy is also known as murnong and is found in south eastern Australia, including Tasmania. The flower is bright yellow, a bit like a dandelion. This species is so called because it was once a food source for Australian Aborigines who roasted the edible tuberous roots in fire pits
The tag is  a very simple one - all fabric. I chose an Aboriginal inspired print for the background, and painted some  lace motifs and  made tufted thread centres.  I am going to miss the alphabet, but looking forward to Z next week and the exciting themes for July.
