TAG TUES ENTRY FOR ITALY WEEK BY MILISSA DEFUSCO

LA BEFANA
ITALY'S GOOD WITCH
ARRIVES ON THE EVE OF JANUARY 5TH - THE EPIPHANY AND LEAVES SMALL GIFTS TO THE GOOD BOYS AND GIRLS OF ITALY.  EVEN THOUGH WE DONT LIVE IN ITALY, WE ARE 100% ITALIAN & WE PRACTICE MANY TRAIDITIONS FROM ITALY.  I STARTED THIS ONE WITH MY CHILDREN A COUPLE OF YEARS BACK.  THEY LOVE TO WAIT TO SEE WHAT THE "GOOD WITCH" OF ITALY WILL LEAVE IN THEIR SHOES LEFT BY THE FIREPLACE.

  11. Thank you for the education! My relatives from Austria have St. Nikolaus for the good children and Krampus (sp?) for the "naughty" children visting before Dec 25. I'll have to tell you, my son HATED getting a miniature red Krampus from his aunt as a joke - even though it was a joke. To this day, at 23, he still dislikes Krampus! (smile and chuckle)
