The Roaring Twenties

Whenever I can I want to use one of my photos for Tag Tuesday.  Last week I included a photo of me in Venice, this time round a photo of my grandfather is the main body of my tag.  There's no date on the photo but judging by my grandfather's age I'm presuming it was taken in the 1920s.  Often black and white photos are colour-popped with a key part in colour, however, using an idea from the Mixed Emulsions book, I have coloured the background with pens and left my grandfather in black and white.  I think it makes him stand out from the background.  The photo is a studio shot and my grandfather looks very dapper in his suit so I'm suggesting he's ready to go out for the evening and the beading hints at a flapper girl's dress, perhaps of a pretty lady he meets that night.

I'm a new player and I can't see how to thank people individually for their comments on my Italy tag, so I'll thank you here en masse.  If anyone can let me know how to reply to the comments, please let me know.  Thank you

  1. I love that photograph. I like dressing up to go out, but most people are so casual these days. Blessings!
