Beads, Buttons and Bows

Hi Everyone!
It is warm and sunny here in Berkshire and signs of Autumn are just beginning .
I thought the Egypt tags were great, and we were all very inspired by the subject.
I liked the subject Beads, Buttons and Bows, but couldn't decide how to make my tag, so I spent a lot of time thinking about it! What came to mind was my mother's button box and how much I loved to play with it. I used to take out the buttons and sort them, looking at the shapes and colours and running them through my fingers. This is what I have tried to capture in my tag.

I took a photo of part of my button collection and attached some buttons to the print. to finish I added a bow. I photographed it on a lacy cardigan as it seemed to set it off well.

Off to look at your tags now! Sorry I haven't had chance to comment on them all. Thanks for all your positive comments.

  3. Your tag brought back wonderful memories of my mother's button box! She was a collector, and I have many of her buttons in jars and framed. Great idea to photograph and then mount buttons on top. Really captures that first glance into a tin of buttons!

  4. This really brought back memories for me too! I used to love looking through my Mum's button box and now I often just rummage through mine - just for the sheer pleasure of it!! Great tag and great idea. Carolyn xx

  6. Jane, I love this. I remember my Grandmother having a huge tin of buttons and the feel of all of those cool, smooth buttons running through my fingers as I dug into it. I think you captured the dimension/depth well by using the background and placing real buttons on the top.
