Tattered and Torn

What a lovely theme for this week. I had fun re-cycling all my bits and bobs to make my tag and most of it I am ashamed to say was laying about on my work top which often reduces to the size of a postage stamp to work on - despite my dear hubby putting in an old breakfast bar top for me to work on! A mucky pup am I!

The tag was made from an old piece of packing that I ripped the paper off and then distressed with white paint. Then I took an experiment off cut of embossed paper and stained it with Walnut Stain
DS and tucked in a torn piece of an old doily behind. The hessian square was a tiny piece left over from another project that was suitably frayed and an old piece of lace pleated in the corner. The flower was made from some pieces of a large artificial bloom that had  fallen apart and so I sewed it together in a bunch. A punched edge on the bottom from a Martha Stewart piece and then tattered and torn stamped onto some scraps of blue spotted paper that was destined for the bin!The ribbon at the top was dyed to tone and there we are.  I knew that it would be a mistake to tidy up, there is gold in that there rubbish! The tags I have peeped at so far are beautiful, its going to be a great tag week! Enjoy yourselves, hugs Barb x

  2. Wonderful! Funny how "tattered" can look so lovely. My work surface has a way of shrinking too.

  10. This is a gorgeous vintage/shabby tag. Love it! I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who regulary reduces her workspace to no space! Takes forever to clean it all up again!

  17. I love the bright red, but tattered flower, and the way it stands against the washed out colors in the background. Blessings!
