Tattered And Torn

Hello everyone. Thank you so much for all your lovely comments last week - they were so kind and encouraging in what was otherwise a busy week (we've sold our house and we're getting packed up - it's a nightmare!).

I took the theme fairly literally this week and was very unkind to some scrap packaging, some heavy cotton lace (pink as pink can be!) and added lots of paint, ink and some stamping. Such fun!

I adore vintage images and the one I have used is from a collection taken in the east end of London during the last years of Queen Victoria's reign. Unfortunately, my printer is running out of ink (don't they always?) so my image transfer didn't work but I managed to get a second image to print and dirtied it up with some ink and paint. It's a little pale but I hope you'll forgive me for that. I'm still in corrugated scrap card mode so I hope you don't mind that also?!

I really enjoyed this challenge I have to say!

I've put aged lace at the top and bottom of the tag because it seemed a better balance and I wanted to cover the tag hole too.

A close up so you can see the image that inspired my entry this week. The curtains have seen better days, her little dress is crumpled and worn but the pet rabbit looks very happy on her lap. . . . . . . . .
The full details are over on my blog if you're interested. I will visit you all over the coming days.

  9. What a wonderful tag, Julie! You pulled off something great in the midst of some craziness! Her sad, grumpy, and probably tired and hungry face really emphasize what times long ago meant for most people!
