Winter Landscape

Well everyone, I got this made over the weekend and put a lot of work into it and had it on my mantlepiece. About 6 hours later I was sat in my arm chair when I suddenly realised what a mistake I had made! What an idiot, can you spot it yet? I was going to make another one but then I thought I would give you all a  laugh and so I submit it in all its idiocy!

I first took a blank tag and worked red and orange paint over it for the background of the wall. Then I die cut the window and window box and painted them with fresco paint and then used Rock Candy distress over the top to get the peeling paint. Then I stamped the winter landscape in Brown Archival and used white paint and glitter for the snow and Stormy Sky distress ink for the sky. I added a grey toned die cut pelmet for over the window and spent some time getting the paint mottled on it. Well away by now I then punched and die cut and coloured some winter greenery and poinsettia flowers for the box. Then I flicked white snow (paint) over the whole thing. I was in my element and chuffed to bits with the result until I realised what I had done! (I hadn't been on the ginger wine - honest!)
Incase anyone hasn't spotted my stupid error - I don't think - I have done the outside of a window looking at the outside of a scene!
I submit it to you all for a good New Year laugh, I put it down to my age!
I have completed Tag Tuesday every week now for two years and have loved every minute of it. All my tags are in a very large sketch book which I love to look at every now and then. I have decided to take a break for a while, I do hope I will be allowed back in at some future date and will continue to enjoy looking at all your works of art. A very happy and creative New Year to you all, thank you for your wonderful comments and fabulous inspiration over the last two years, long may it continue! xx

  2. I love the window box poinsettia arrangement. As to what you call a "mistake," I believe it could be turned around by considering the tag a store-window winter display. Happy New Year!

  3. Very pretty! The die-cut flower arrangement is great! Maybe this is a fantasy window-- a little Lewis Carroll effect?! I guess I'm in good company-- I'm stepping down too! Good luck to you!

  4. Lovely wintery tag, and yes it did make me smile. It's called artistic licence, in other words you can do what you want.

  5. Love your wintery tag - no - I didn't spot the mistake!! It certainly doesn't detract from your lovely design. SOrry to hear you won't be joining us for a while - hope you will come back before too long but, in the meantime, have a Happy New Year!

  6. Fabulous winter landscapeand such a good idea to view it through a window. Never mind about it snowing indoors, it adds atmosphere! I hope you enjoy your break from Tag Tuesday and it enables you to work on other areas you are interested in.

  8. I think it's a fantastic tag. The amount of work you put into it is obvious. If you hasn't told me there was an "error", I never would have caught it!

  13. Hey, people do decorate their indoor window sills for Christmas with greenery and flowers and candles and all that, so there is nothing wrong with your tag at all! I love it, it is a really beautiful scene.

  14. hehehe! Well, I perused your gorgeous tag for AGES trying to spot the booboo and I didn't get it until you pointed it out - maybe you're right and it is an age thing!

  15. Looks like we'll be missing a couple of great taggers here--just when this newbie was getting to know them! Love your tag concept and all the work that went into it I live in a Victorian home with deep window sills. If I decorated them on the inside, this certainly is what they would look like!
