Myths and Legends

It was so hard to choose because I love myths and legends and have read and studied so many of them. At first I was going for something obscure, but my heart led me back to Camelot. Who doesn't love this beautiful, inspiring, tragic tale?
For my tag, I printed the tag with a picture of an ancient castle that fit my ideal of Camelot. I used Tim Holtz products to antique the tag and a blue water color pencil and white gelly pen to highlight certain areas of the castle.
Next was the fun part! using metal snips, I cut a piece of aluminum and used an awl and hammer to form it into the proper shape. I used a thin piece of copper and formed the guard and the handle, and glued them to the sword. Next, I embedded a deep teal jewel in the handle to serve as the sigil. Thin copper wire embellished the sides. I was disappointed that I couldn't get the wire to twine the way I wanted it to go. I pictured the sword coming from the Lake. The water is paper with torn edges that has been painted blue and has glitter in it. The curls represent spray from the water. The last part was attaching a little piece that identifies the castle as Camelot.
