Lock and Keys

Hello All. It was wonderful to see all the beautiful Spring Flower tags last week. A big thank you for the comments on the one I made.

Must admit to scratching my head a bit about the theme for this week then I remembered a sheet I had won at Artfully Musing when Laura did a draw for one of her beautiful sheets of images.

The colours on this look a lot brighter than they really are as it was very bright and sunny when I took the photograph.

I used corrugated packaging and painted it with emulsion paint. I then stamped it with a stamp I got from a DIY store-supposed to be used on furniture so I guess a door is ok.

The lock and the hinges are from Laura's sheet of hardware and the key is from Crafty Emblies that don't seem to be in business now. I edged the accessories with white pen as they didn't show up enough on the background.

Do you remember when people used to leave a key on a piece of string through the letter box in case they were out when you visited--those were the days?

Have a great week

Chrissie x

  1. How true are the words. Yes I do remember the string and key at the back of the door. Also one under the plant pot outside the door. Even doors not being locked at all.
    Happy days

  3. Love the doorplate and hinges! One of the nice things about living in rural France is that it is still very much like that! Carolyn xx

  8. Great quote and tag. My mum was always at home so we never had the key on the end of the string, or under the pot.

  9. Laura's door hardware was perfect for this tag. She is one heck of an amazing artist. I love the wood texture of your background and the quote is quite special.
