statues

the statues prompt for this week stumped me.  in the end i made 2 tags -- one that failed to meet my aims and one i like regardless of whether it met my aims!  this tag which i feel pretty good about uses a favorite stamp from stampers anonymous.  this stamp is reminiscent of a statue or bust, perhaps from the roman or grecian era, and i liked the effect from stamping it on a combination of dictionary and designer paper.

somehow she seemed to want to wear a lace veil so i gave her one, along with some other simple embellishments.

so, on to the tag i made first and which did not meet my expectations.  i was visiting a friend in los angeles earlier this year and while wandering a city square i took a photo on my cell phone of a dancing lion.  my friend and i debated if the lion was meant to be from wizard of oz.  we couldn't decide. but in thinking of this challenge i remembered the photo.  for my tag i attempted to add some wizard of oz elements (from a gecko galz collage sheet).  it just didn't come together as i wanted it to though.  i'm sharing it anyway since it is all about the journey i suppose.

happy rest of your week; i look forward to seeing all your awesome tags. love to all.

  1. Lovely tags, and you wee not the only one who was stumped. But I suppose it gets us thinking! Hugs, Valerie

  3. Both the ideas work well, I think. I do love the first tag with the gentle touch of the lace veil. However, your second tag is a wonderful memory of a special experience shared with a friend.

  4. Great ideas for tags. I agree it was not the easiest subject, but that is the idea, to get us thinking. I like the printed text background of your lady statue. The other tag is intriguing, and I can't think of any other reason for having a dancing lion statue!

  5. I love the simplicity of the first tag. Really nice composition and the colour and pattern of the designer paper is great.
