Feathers

My tag for this weeks theme of Feathers is quite an unusual one, because there is no paper or card in sight. The only 'tools' I used were my three Alcohol inks, red, blue and yellow, and a sentiment.

The feather is one of three white seagull feathers that Lynn Holland sent me quite some time ago, and the fibres were in my stash, but I cannot remember from where.

I just dripped the ink onto the feather and it simply flowed along the the barbs. The shaft stayed white so I dripped some blue ink at the hollow quill end for added interest.  I used black Stayzon ink to stamp the sentiment to ensure it would stay put. The sentiment says, It's all in the details. I can't say why I chose that sentiment; it just felt right.

I am unusually giddy about the results of this, seeing as the idea came to me unexpectedly and was complete within ten minutes. I wish all my ideas were realised so easily, hehe.

Many thanks for your lovely comments on my Texture tag last week. They really all do make my heart squish with happiness.

And until next time, take care, and, be happy! ((hugs)) :o) Mo x
