Something Old, Something New

I used a white crayola crayon to write the quote and then went over it all with yellow and blue watercolour paints, blending slightly in the centre and got a bit of a nice green going on there.

If you can't read it, it says:

Something old, Something new,
Something borrowed, Something blue,
A silver sixpence in your shoe.

It is a tradition that comes form an English rhyme.
Something old represents continuity; something new offers optimism for the future; something borrowed symbolizes borrowed happiness; something blue stands for purity, love, and fidelity; and a sixpence in your shoe is a wish for good fortune and prosperity, although this remains largely a British custom.

I was disappointed that the crayon didn't show as well as expected, so I went over all the writing with my white Signo uniball; et voila :D

Many thanks for all your lovely comments on my tag last week; I look forward to seeing your work again this week.

Thanks for looking.
