Autumn

Don't you just love cool autumn mornings?  They are truly uplifting here in Del Rio, especially after our extremely hot summers.  However, since we are a blend between a desert and a grassland, we don't have many trees, so fall colors are limited.  My family and I are fortunate to live close to one of our creeks, so we have several trees in our property.  Although I hate raking leaves and skimming them out of our swimming pool, I do enjoy their beauty.  Inspired by the latter, I created my tag.

I decided to paint a leaf for my tag.  However, I couldn't find any real ones that were the size I had in mind.  Therefore, I cut one out of kraft paper and crumpled it by hand to give it some body.  I doodle on it with india ink markers, blended some oil pastels over it, and coated it with an acrylic finish.  When it was dry, I tied a strip of ribbon to the stem to form a bow.  Finally, I added a distressed tiny tag on which I wrote the phrase "mellow changes."

May your autumn season be a cornucopia filled with blessings!
