Casino Amusements

I need to confess that I've never been to a casino or bingo hall.  I don't even buy lottery tickets.  I just don't enjoy gambling.  (My wife says I'm just tight with money - LOL!)  However, I do like playing card games, Yahtzee, and bingo during family gatherings.

Art, Enjoy the Journey

After contemplating the issue for a while, I decided I could make a case about the similarity between artists  and gamblers.  Artists never know if they will win over an audience for their artwork, just like gamblers never know if they will win a game.  However, just like gamblers, artists take a gamble when experimenting with new ideas, materials, and techniques.  The results may be favourable, just like when winning a game; or they may not, just like when loosing a game.  However, artists, just like gamblers, keep on doing it for the excitement they get during the process.  They also both get great satisfaction when they are successful.

Therefore, when working on a piece of "art, enjoy the journey," because you may not win over an audience.

Blessings!
Arnoldo

  1. Very nice tag, and great staging of your photo too. Like your thoughts on art. As long as the artist is happy with their work, they won!

  9. Great to approach this from a different angle. Things like printing and dyeing always seem like a gamble, you're never sure of the results! Thanks also for the nice comment on my blog! Finished photos of my embroidered bag coming soon.

  10. Delightful tag - and lOVely sentiments - full of heart.
I always worry what others think of what I create, whether it's 'good enough' compared to others, and sometimes I do need to remind myself that what I think about it matters too :0)
