I need to confess that I've never been to a casino or bingo hall. I don't even buy lottery tickets. I just don't enjoy gambling. (My wife says I'm just tight with money - LOL!) However, I do like playing card games, Yahtzee, and bingo during family gatherings.

After contemplating the issue for a while, I decided I could make a case about the similarity between artists and gamblers. Artists never know if they will win over an audience for their artwork, just like gamblers never know if they will win a game. However, just like gamblers, artists take a gamble when experimenting with new ideas, materials, and techniques. The results may be favourable, just like when winning a game; or they may not, just like when loosing a game. However, artists, just like gamblers, keep on doing it for the excitement they get during the process. They also both get great satisfaction when they are successful.
Therefore, when working on a piece of "art, enjoy the journey," because you may not win over an audience.
Blessings!

Very nice tag, and great staging of your photo too. Like your thoughts on art. As long as the artist is happy with their work, they won!
ReplyDeleteLove that attitude...and tag! I'm not a gambler either. Or at least didn't think I was until I read your post.
ReplyDeletelove this- fabulous :)
ReplyDeletethis is great, fine attitude
ReplyDeleteLike you I don't gamble, I am struggling to create this weeks tag, but I do enjoy games so bless you for the inspiration! Great tag, love it. x
ReplyDeleteThis is a great tag, and well staged!
ReplyDeleteThis weeks tag was a struggle for me, too! But I like what you have made, and the hand! Valerie
ReplyDeleteReally fabulous tag and great use of game pieces. Thanks for inspiring everyone else too ... the point being to have great fun using the pieces associated with these games and "amusements"
ReplyDeleteCool tag! And I love your thoughts on Art. xx
ReplyDeleteGreat to approach this from a different angle. Things like printing and dyeing always seem like a gamble, you're never sure of the results! Thanks also for the nice comment on my blog! Finished photos of my embroidered bag coming soon.
ReplyDeleteDelightful tag - and lOVely sentiments - full of heart.
ReplyDeleteI always worry what others think of what I create, whether it's 'good enough' compared to others, and sometimes I do need to remind myself that what I think about it matters too :0)
Lovely tag!.I love the little artist palette.
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting connection you made!
ReplyDeleteFabulous tag..love all the detail.. clever pic.. May x
ReplyDeleteI love the way you have presented your tag - super! Carolyn x
ReplyDeleteArnoldo, I couldn't agree with you more. Great analogy between the two! Gorgeous tag, I just love it and your interpretation of the challenge. Awesome!

Great work Arnoldo, the comparison is very apt - to be an artist is to take a risk!
ReplyDeleteLove your tag and the thought processes behind it, staging for the photo is perfect too, Jane xx
ReplyDeleteI don't gamble either - I'm too cheap. I love the tag you've created, Arnoldo. All of yours are spectacular and I enjoy seeing then every week.
