I have fond memories as both a child and a parent attending circus performances. In my mind, the circus is one of the only places where human as well as animal antics, grace, and agility are at a constant interplay during performances. It's almost magical!

I decided that ©Anel, my original character, should have a day at the circus. However, loving to be the centre of attention and being very precocious by nature, she wanted to be a part of the show. Here she is with the little menagerie she managed to train for her first act. She also designed her own little costume, which of course had to have magenta trims and giant flower buttons. LOL! Anyway, I kept my tag design quite simple this week. After finishing my Sharpie and Prismacolor pencil illustration, I trimmed the top and bottom ends of the tag with strips of Martha Stewart paper borders and a strip of vintage pink rick-rack. Then, I distressed the sides with a baby blue Clearsnap pad. As a finishing touch, I tied a strip of zebra print ribbon to the top.
By the way, I wanted to praise and thank Carolyn Saxby for the creative blog backdrops she creates every month. They truly compliment our work. I'm also excited to see that the number of followers keeps increasing every week. Thank you for joining. Hope you like my new tag, and may your week be filled with blessings!

Anel is so brave to be stood next to a lion Arnold! The elephant is keeping an eye on him just incase he gets peckish I think! Gorgeous illustration.
