School Days

My school district sponsors an annual overnight field trip for our gifted and talented fifth graders to MO Ranch, which is located in Huntsville, Texas.  MO ranch offers a variety of learning activities, including high element courses, reptile studies, orienteering, and much more.  The field trip is not just educational, but it's a lot of fun and it provides many of our students with their first experience away from home.

Arnoldo L. Romero

In order to provide the parents with all the information necessary and get the necessary applications distributed, my colleagues and I have a meeting 6-weeks prior to the trip.  In order to encourage attendance, we all bring a couple of field trip oriented door prizes for the students, such as water bottles, ponchos, etc.  I brought a couple of journals and pens, which I tied with some jute cord.  I embellished the sets with a tag that I put together with clip art and a font I found on my school's computer program.  I was pleased to see that my journals were some of the first door prizes to be selected by the students when their names were drawn.

Have a blessed week!

  8. I'm not surprised your gifts were snapped up so quickly! I used to make handmade books with the children in my class to record out of school trips so great minds think alike! Carolyn xx
