Snow

Hello, Jane here in Berkshire, UK. We don't have snow at the moment, but have had some blustery storms. Thanks for setting the challenge, Carolyn, it is going to be great fun!

I went up to my studio and rummaged around for snow-related items. I found wrapping paper, a snowflake cutter, some ribbon with silver snowflakes on, some sparkling card, silver yarn and some Christmas cards. My collection of clothes tags has come in very useful, as I knew it would!

I used a clothes tag as the base, swapping the ribbon for silver yarn. On one side I used glittery blue cardstock, adding landscape pictures from a Christmas card. Next went on the cut snowflakes, finished off with a voile ribbon encrusted with sparkling snowflakes.

This is the other side, where I used the same technique, but left out the cut snowflakes and took the voile ribbon over the whole piece, which gives a lovely sparkly edge.

I found it difficult to photograph as the light bounced off the voile,
so here are some close-ups of each of the four landscapes.

  1. Both sides of your tag are lovely. I love the snowy landscapes and the ribbon adds a magical touch. I think I need to go hunt for a snowflake cutter now!!!
