Vintage: Band of Gold

A love note from a young woman to her beloved, discussing their elopement that night is the foundation of this tag. The note is written in an elegant, formal hand on a piece of sheet music because her Father had discovered her liaison and had taken away her personal stationery. However, the note has been torn into pieces and the reassembled and tear stained note bears the angrily written note, "I hate him. I will never forgive him."

Along with the pieced together note is a cheap ring, a tiny tag stating Grand Mother Mullins 1876.
Was our dear Martha jilted by her William or did her Father intervene and destroy her plans? We will never know for all that is left is note - evidence of a grand, lost passion and a band of gold.
I made this tag by writing the letter on a piece of paper with music on it; antiquing it, dripping water onto it like tears falling from her eyes, ripping it into shreds, reassembling it on a layer of paper typical of the time period, and adding the embellishments of the string, the tiny tag, and the ring, an inexpensive piece of a bracelet.
Thanks for my sister for taking the wonderful pictures and adding the props of the necklace and the crystals. I'm posting a lot of pictures in case you want to try to read the note.
