Vintage.
I chose a photo of my Grandmother, who was a tailoress, as my starting point this week. Using a mulberry paper tag for the base, I applied a piece of vintage dress making pattern which I then over-stamped with a Paper Artsy rubber stamp. I am a hoarder and found amongst all my Grandmothers odds and ends, a mother of pearl monogrammed button, a jet bead and my her silver thimble. It was so well worn, that she had worn small holes on the top which enabled me to sew it to the tag. The rosette is made from scrap-booking paper showing vintage sewing adverts. All the other embellishments came from my stash. Loving this challenge.

ReplyDeleteThis is brilliant. So outside of the box. Absolutely love it. You have me thinking now of what old jewllery keepsakes I can incorporate onto a tag. Hugs Mrs A.

ReplyDeleteWow gorgeous tag, love all the thing you have added.
ReplyDeleteGreat minds think alike! I raided my mother-in-law's work basket for a card of darning wool for my tag. So lovely to reuse items used by special people rather than have them sit in a drawer gathering dust.
