hearts

Have you ever had a couple of great ideas that for one reason or another just didn’t work out? Well, that’s the story of my tags this week. What I ended up with was not what I wanted. I just hope that next week I can put my ideas and creativity together to produce a tag that reflects the ideas! While my tags aren’t what I really wanted, I thought I’d post them anyway.

How do you mend a broken heart?

I started off by stamping a heart on a tag that I then distressed and tore apart . I curled back the edges of the heart on one side and completely removed the other side. then I sewed the bottom of the card back together with red thread. I affixed this tag to another tag. I then added a painted heart that I made dimensional with hard molding paste. After the “heart” had dried a bit (but not completely), I took a knife and “broke” the heart in two pieces. For the metal piece, I wrote in”How do you mend a broken heart?” with a pen and then covered the indented writing with paint.

I then took the needle and sewed it through the metal and the “heart” tag to attach them together.

Home is where the heart is...

I made a little cardboard house and covered it with part of a world map. I added the embellished frame with the word “Home” in it. Off of the frame I hung a chain that held a lock and key as well as a heart I made from a frame, some scrapbook paper and a heart gem.

Wishing you all a creative week!

  5. If you mentioned these weren't exactly what you envisaged, we would have been none the wiser. I think they are both great tags.
