i am so happy to be participating in this weekly challenge. having known carolyn for some time through her artwork and her blogs, i feel it an honor to be a part of this collaborative.
challenges have always been a great way to trigger creativity in me. starting out with an idea, a simple word or a phrase can lead one down infinite paths, especially when your muse is dormant.
how this tag ended up the way it did is an example of how random the creative process can be. i am showing you the before and after tag so you can get an idea.
the starting point was the tag ofcourse but i wanted it to be an organic tag so the piece of wood came second. then i struggled for a bit until i saw before me a little photo of the children picking sea glass on the beach where i live. i had saved it from a beach glass necklace that was given to me as a gift. it, too, was a miniature tag and i immediately knew i wanted to incorporate.
everything happened smoothly after that. i painted a bit of my favorite color on it, then added some words from some vintage music sheets, a heart from the same and little snippets from my fabric piles. i also burned the outer edges at the end to make it a bit asymmetrical and add another organic touch to it.
so there....
i have to say all the contributions so far have blown me away. so much love has gone into them and it shows. let us continue inspiring each other since creating is the highest in the heirarchy of needs.
thank you carolyn
Love youri interpretation of the theme. Hugs Mrs A.
