My tag this week is a bookmark
made out of the spine of a vintage
French-English Dictionary,
which was already in a sorry state of repair.

It was a challenge for me to keep this flat
and to not add bumpy embellishments,
so I added texture with the gold mesh.

A bonus point will be awarded
for the first person to tell me what
'ma signet' means
(I had to look it up!).

Thank you for looking
and for any comments left
but please do not feel that
it is necessary to leave a comment :o)

  5. No bonus points for me because French is my mother tongue... so I'll just say that it should be "mon" signet. But it still a lovely book mark... Big hug to you!

  6. Thank you for the correction, I studied French rather half-heartedly many years ago! - I'll change it forthwith :o)

    1. No, no, leave it as it is! It's part of the art now.

    2. Ok, I didn't really think about that - famous artists like Tracey Emin makes loads of mistakes and leave them in so I guess why shouldn't I?

      Thanks Colette!

  7. I took french in high school, but admit I couldn't remember... So-ooooo, yes, I had to "look up" "mon signet"! I don't think I'll forget how to say "my bookmark" in French again! I LOVE how beautiful your bookmark came out, and I always was a very visual kind of learner! (0; I'm good with faces, terrible with names!.. Anyways, I'd love to make at least one or two like this myself sometime! Thanks for the inspiration, and hope you have a wonderful weekend! ~tina
