Anyway, this weeks theme meant I just had to do something patriotic, just loving seeing all the red, white and blue everywhere. A mixed media tag which started off with craft vilene for the base. Blue patchwork fabric was bonded to this, then the white diagonal stripes were cut from mulberry paper and the red ric-rac stuck on top. White felt and red patchwork fabric for the cross of St. George. I then blanket stitched all the elements in place on my sewing machine. The cown brad, ribbon and wire from my stash. I am still managing to make all my tags with bits and pieces in my 'play room'.
I have now deleted some photos from my memory card, and taken another photo of my tag. It is hanging in my porch ready for next weeks celebrations.
Great choice, so much quicker than a quilt too. X
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work and really neatly sewn, great! Valerie
ReplyDeleteHope you are going to hang this somewhere over the bank holiday! Great sewn tag, love itx
ReplyDeleteAlways a great feeling to use up some things you already have - makes room for new things! Great tag, love the ric rac!
ReplyDeleteWhat a brilliant idea - that single embellishment really stands out and adds the perfect touch - beautiful.
ReplyDeleteVery nice! Love that little crown.
ReplyDeleteLove the dimension the ric-rac gives to the bunting and the crown in the middle pulls it all together, very nice!
