Sewing

It's my sisters 60th birthday today so my creative efforts this week have been busy elsewhere
I will be posting more about all this on my blog later
(after I have given her the gifts)
This is a very quick offering of a tag, but I kinda like it.
The gold zig zag stitching was already on this clothing tag, so it was a good one to use
A rummage in the button jar and 'allsorts' drawer produced the embellishments.
A closer look at this sweet little vintage glass button in its brass casing
with vintage green thread still attached

and the metal screw handle from my old sewing basket which is long gone

At the bottom, a cute little vintage shoe button and miniature scissors hooked onto a safety pin stitched at the ends to hang from the zig zag stitching to finish.

Tag: Re purposed clothing tag, linen thread label
Embellishments: Buttons, hooks, safety pin, metal sewing basket handle, miniature scissors.
Tie: Thin stitched ribbon.
Thanks ever so much for all your lovely comments on my purple tag,
I really enjoyed seeing what everyone did with that theme,
and there are some lovely sewing one already popping up today,
I'm looking forward to seeing them all.
On the subject of sewing, Embroiderer's Guild tonight, returning after a long hiatus
We are doing beaded fringing..... looking forward to it!

  1. Love it Yvonne! I have some vintage bits and pieces and several old thimbles from my late Aunt's collections - all a delight.
I'd love to be at the beaded fringing meeting - I'll be thinking of you there! Connie.

  4. Those teeny scissors are very cute, and I too used an old shoe button; the only one I had, but what else was I going to do with it ;)
