Hello everyone, hope you have all had some sunshine this week. What a joy it has been to be at the seaside
stitching my tag this week.
For my tag this week I picked a handful of shells and interesting beach
finds from my collection and stitched them onto my tag. Most of them had holes in them to sew through,
others I just sewed over to attach them
to the tag. I used craft vylene covered in purply-green silk for the base tag
and used various threads to stitch the shells on, and embroider in between. I
then filled in the gaps with pearls and turquoise beads and sequins.
The tag is finished with a tie of turquoise
threads and ribbons with beads and pearls.
Thank you for all your lovely comments on my J. L. Seagull tag last
week. I shall be round later to see all
your rock pools and beach finds. Thanks for looking, have a wonderful creative
week. Bye for now,
Jane xx

ReplyDeleteI love your color scheme and all the texture you created with your stitching. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea to stitching shells to your tag. I was just admiring the tiny blanket stitch all around your tag. How fab to be able to sit on the beach stitching.

ReplyDeleteMany thanks for all your lovely comments about my tag, I just love shells and beach finds! The stitching around the edge was more of a fluke than by design - tension on my sewing machine not right! Jane xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tag, Jane! I really like the colours and the way the shells are set to look their best against the stripey background.
ReplyDeleteIt is nice to think of you stitching a shell tag at the seaside!
