Hi all,
I made this weeks tag in a bit of a hurry last night, when I realised I had forgotten to make anything for today!
The hubs smashed a very large polished nautilus shell I had on my shelves in the studio - accidentally that is! - and I decided I wanted to use the little bits for something. I rather strangely liked the idea of a nest made of shell!
They are quite shiny and pearlised but it doesn't really show in the photo.
It needs something else but I'm not sure what - I'm wondering if the bird is parent or predator! Perhaps if I'd given myself a few more days to make it I would have put it together differently and been happier with it.
Many thanks to everyone who left such lovely comments last week - your tags were amazing.
Lovely tag, and a great idea to use the shell fragments for it! Valerie
ReplyDeleteDiana,
ReplyDeleteHow clever! I love the use of the shell. What a creative tag!
Best, Mary Ann
Oh dear, the poor mummy bird has just come back to find one of the eggs smashed. Can you see the despair in her eyes? Its great that you were able to turn disaster into something so brilliant. Love that tag. And I hope hubby has replaced the broken shell .........
ReplyDeleteLove this tag, the bird is a great image, definately a parent bird I feel! x
ReplyDeleteThis tag is outstanding.Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteHow inspired. See, there are no accidents, just solutions! Great job!
ReplyDeleteA wonderful tag Diana...love the cracked shell element :)
ReplyDeleteDiana, this is wonderful. The gull actually looks distressed over the smashed egg and the nautilus shell works beautifully as the egg fragments!
ReplyDeleteI don't know - I like it just the way it is - sometime simple is best. Good job "recycling" to.
ReplyDeleteGreat to use something broken to create something new!
ReplyDeleteI think it is perfect how it is Diana. Beautiful delicate colours. I think the egg has hatched! Looks like mum is returning to feed her chick.
ReplyDeleteWhat a clever use of your broken shell. A great image you found of the seagull.
ReplyDeleteI love it as it is. You can always make changes later if you want to...but you know that!
ReplyDeleteYou may have made it in a hurry but it's very good

Just goes to show that nothing is wasted even when broken! Greqt tag and love the bird image. Hugs Mrs A.
ReplyDeleteLike others who have commented, I think this is a parent bird - I can see the shock of a broken egg! How clever to use something you might have thrown away to create this art tag.
ReplyDeleteWish I could make something this good 'in a hurry'! It's amazing and I love the use of the broken shell :0)
ReplyDeleteWhat a magnificent bird, maybe its neither parent or predator but just hatched? Great use of your broken shell, love the ribbon too, Jane xx
ReplyDeleteI really like the idea of using the shell pieces. Blessings!
