Sea Birds

Hi everyone! My contribution for this week is the most loathed sea bird of them all - the lowly seagull. I made my tag by first drawing the seagull. Next, I took a piece of white cloth and fused it to a midweight fusible piece. After that, I cut our some of the larger pieces of the gull and used markers to color the gray feathers on it. Then I took the white piece and cut our lots of little feathers and applied them to the body of the gull starting at the bottom and layering to the top. I placed the gray pieces on the gull's body over the feathers and put the white head on top of all of it. I used Copic markers to color his feet, legs and beak. Out of a remnant of the fused fabric, I created a wooden post and the waves and attached the gull to the wooden post. I punched a hole for his beady red eye and used a red brad for the eye. The string is burlap and the background is a piece of blue fabric that mimics a summer sea sky. He's a rather splendid gull with a lot of attitude!
