Here is my tag for this weeks 'Swimming' theme
I grew up in a seaside town and we all used to love reading the saucy postcards that were outside almost every shop.
This was the first I saw after searching good old google for ideas and it brought back lots of memories.
I just adjusted the picture to add the foaming sea in the background and the reflection of the bathers in the water; then I added the shell & blue sea glass (thanks Yvonne x) and cut out a couple of my acetate starfish. The ribbon is ric-rac. Et voila!
Thank you for all your very kind comments last week. Any constructive comments are always welcome. Many thanks to Carolyn for posting my efforts week after week. And now, to see the bathing beauties everyone else has discovered
Mo
Hmm! Where did you get that photo of me in my striped bathing costume??? Valerie
ReplyDeleteLol Valerie - it's actually a self-portrait, hehe :-D
ReplyDeleteBrilliant! I used to love those postcards.
ReplyDeleteFantastic tag - I remember being pulled quickly past racks of those cards when I was very young - some were quite risque - of course it made them far more interesting to us kids!
ReplyDeleteLove the one you've used for the tag - the whole thing is fab!
I too was brought up by the sea and remember the racks of naughty cards! This is a very funny one! Actually i know a couple just like them ...... (no names!) Great tag. Carolyn x
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! Funny too!
ReplyDeleteHa Ha I've seen vintage postcards like this before - some of them can be pretty risque - but they are so fun. Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteI love this, remember the postcards, great tag x
ReplyDeleteLOL! I'll bet Horace is relieved even though I'm sure he'd love to pick up his bathing beauty. :) I love the special effects you achieved with the surf and the reflection.
ReplyDeleteYou been out with the box brownie snapping me and Philip.
ReplyDeleteFantastic tag Mo.
I love how you created the reflection. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteI love the combination of the card and the embellishments. It looks like someone left the card on the beach and you found it with all the lovely little extras!
ReplyDeleteSuch a clever use of a fun vintage cartoon postcard! I am impressed with the reflections you created.
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun tag! I used to be fascinated by those postcards as a child.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun tag...I remember sneaking a peek at these saucy postcards when I was a kid too!
ReplyDeleteGreat to see one of the old style postcards. The picturesque ones you get get now are not half such fun. Very clever effects too to manipulate the image, Jane xx
ReplyDeleteHi Mo Those saucy post cards were great fun to read when our parents were shopping! What a neat idea to create the reflection in the water - clever x
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun tag!
ReplyDeleteThe bathing suit is my size and style but all I can ever find at the store are black ones for big girls. Sigh.
