Here's my tag for this week's theme! I wasn't sure what to do for this, and did consider doing something based on the one bit of gambling which I actually do - which is to buy a £1 scratchcard in support of our local football team. But then the song 'Luck be a Lady' came into my head, and I knew I could finally use those giant playing cards that I bought thinking they would be good to use for making something!
So here is my rather large (A5 size!) tag, featuring Lady Luck! I used the back of the cards to create her dress and embsllished it with hearts on the bust, and diamonds on the hem. She is wearing a spade belt. I used one of the Queen's faces, having asked my husband to choose which one he thought was prettiest! I used clubs to create her hairstyle. Her bracelets, shoes and hair decorations are all details from the Queen card I used for the face. Her neck, hands and legs I cut from the white part of a card, and I was very impressed with my cunning in using the corners to create her arms! I also used corners to create the capital Ls for Lady Luck. I added red, blue and black braid to finish her off!

ReplyDeleteShe is truly a fashionista. It's become a tradition of my Mother-in-Law to give each of us in the family a scratch lottery ticket for Christmas, but we've never won more than a couple of dollars. :\ Blessings!
