Owls

"The owl and the pussy-cat went to sea
In a beautiful pea green boat......"
Even with all the millions of owl images and ideas currently available, I couldn't stop repeating this Edward Lear poem, so I stayed with it. I've tried to make this week's tag in a fairy tale style. The  "sea" is a scrap of layered free form machine embroidered fabric, and the "boat" has been machine appliqued. I cut the  colourful owl and cat shapes from two different fabrics (from my stash) and hand appliqued them. This tag  was fun to make. Thanks for all your positive encouragement for the stitched tags in the past few weeks - they have motivated me to keep making textile tags, for the moment anyway.
