I know most people do spring cleaning, but this year I’m attempting to do some Fall De-junking. When I looked around at all of the “Stuff” in our house, I thought it would be fun to just use stuff from our Junk Drawer to create my tag.
I layered pennies on for the feathers, safety pins for the claws, paper clips for the wings, an acorn (how did that get in there?) for the beak and luckily for me, I even had googly eyes to put on my owl. I even put it all together with the one of many glue guns in the drawer! Once it was assembled I noticed that the beak really blended in with the pennies, so, I took a bit of WhiteOut and rubbed it on the acorn. It still didn’t look right so I dug back in the drawer and got a red marker to color it. I must admit that I “cheated” and used paper from my studio for the background, a saw to cut my acorn in half and a hole punch for the string but other than that I really got it all out of that one little drawer! Now, I’m off to clean that drawer!
Wishing you all a creative week!
Best, Mary Ann
