I'm having to schedule posts on my blog at the moment as having a bit of a traumatic time so am going to cheat a bit here too. I made this tag last month for a tag swap that has now winged its way to America and as it fits the theme this week am showing it again on Tag Tuesday. Hope that is ok.
The backing paper
is from Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps Fallfoliage Autumn Papers which you can
purchase from them. The leaves are stamped (from a freebie stamp from The
CraftStamper magazine) and then cut around, coloured with distress inks using
autumn colours.( I stamp the ink pad onto my non-stick craft mat, smoosh with a
little water, stir together with a paint brush and then lay the images straight
on top. Press down well and then turn over to do the other side. I made the
pine cones from my Tim Holtz Alterations Tattered Pinecone die. The
instructions that come with the die are only pictures of the process but if you
log onto the Sizzix site and look under the die number you can download a pdf file whih is much better
at explaining. I used a mix of two distress brown inks to acheive my pine cone
colour. The pine case was left over from collecting up nuts for Mr Squirrel
last yr to see him through the winter.
There aren't very many acorns around this year ( has any else noticed? There was an abundance of them last year) so Mr Squirrel will have to make do with shop purchased monkey nuts!
Lovely tag, hope things are soon easier for you! Valerie
ReplyDeleteYou did a beautiful job creating your Autumn spray for your tag. There's plenty of acorns in my part of the world LOL. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteWell done for using actual acorns! Hope life gets a little easier for you soon.
ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely tag. So sorry to hear things are difficult, my wishes and hugs for you that they get better soon. x

ReplyDeleteWow! those leaves and pine cones are amazing - I thought they were real at first glance. Beautiful! Our resident squirrels are struggling this year - usually there are hundreds of walnuts for them (and some for us) but this year - not one! They do like the monkey nuts though :o)
ReplyDeleteLovely tag! I can't tell which bits are real!

Lovely tag - such fab leaves - I love the patterning on them, and a really great background.
ReplyDeleteThought these Autumn finds were real at first, very clever. Mr Squirrel has a shortage of acorns in Bournemouth too! Jane xx
