One of my favourite hedgerow plants is Cow Parsley or Queen Anne's Lace. A free plant that adorns the side of the road and country lanes, I think it has a wonderful shape and as the flowers come out, then it turns to seed and the seeds blow off each stage has beauty all of it's own. Carolyn encouraged us to use mixed media this week and so I decided to press each stage and use that on my tag. That was a problem as the flower head is too big and so I took a segment of each flower which still has the shape of the whole and incorporated it into a stamped tag.
The background first had a clear embossed image of wild flowers that had Queen Anne Lace on it, then I coloured over this with various blue distress inks. Then using the same inks I stamped other seed images around and then glued the pressed stages of the flower on top.
I love the beauty of the seeds and how they dry and shrivel to look like mini honesty pods, even the bare shape of the twigs when they have all blown off are architectual wonders! I finished the tag off with a little label edged with real lace.
I guess there will be a lot of seeds blown off this coming week as Autumn takes a grip, I'm really looking forward to enjoying all your captured seed tags later! Your rusted wonders were fabulous, such variety! Have an enjoyable week everyone. x

This is so lovely. I love the contrasts of textures and colours and stages of development. The seeds do look just like the lace , so the lace edged label just perfects the composition, Jane xx
