Greetings! When I was trying to get my printer to work this weekend, the sepia enhanced photograph of my parents that I was trying to print for last week's "Sepia or Brown" tag came out. Since I had this week's "Music" theme in my mind, the first thing I thought of when I saw it was "harmony." In music, harmony is the pleasant and/or congruent sound of two or more notes played simultaneously. That is the perfect analogy of my parents' relationships with each other, their family, and friends.

Since my parent's photograph was the base and focal point of my tag, I decided to keep it simple. I used an EKSuccess music note border punch to create the bronze metallic paper trims. I taped them to the photograph and used a peacock gold stamp to darken all the edges. Then, I designed an embellishment using a Tim Holtz grungeboard heart and his music note print washi tape. I edged it with a gold dabber. I enhanced the heart by sandwiching it between a couple of K&Company rose die-cuts. As a finishing touch, I added a dot of vintage photo stickles to the center of the rose. Next, I took a tag and wrote "In Harmony" on it using a brown micron pen. I glued the latter two items to my tag. I rounded the top corners of the photograph and punched a hole between them to form the tag shape. I topped my tag by tying a strip of gold ribbon to it.
I love my tag, because it will be a reminder of one of the most important lessons I learned from my parents. As it is written in Colossians 3:12-14, "Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony." Have a blessed week!
Beautiful tag! Valerie

ReplyDeleteHi Arnold thank you for your lovely comment on my tag and video. You are right it is a pleasure to be part of this creative and sharing group. I love your very personal take on the music theme. Your printer obviously had its reasons for not printing the fab photo of you parents! Your tag is a lovely tribute Arnold.
