Hello
everyone, and well done for such delightful D tags last week, and thank you for
your sweet comments on my Daisy tag.
This week in
my Abecedary of Calligraphy, I have written ‘Ex libris’ starting with an Elaborate capital E; the remaining letters being written in Elongated Black Letter hand.
Here, branching ascenders and Extending
terminals are developed into a tracery of ornamentation that links some of the
letters, all written with an Edged
pen. Personally I think it is an Excessively Embellished style making it difficult to read! It was fun to write though!
Did you know
that the small stroke that projects from the top right corner of the lowercase
letter "g" is called an ‘Ear’?
I am
enjoying this theme so much, I find myself wondering what you are all creating
throughout the week! I am learning lots
from you all too as we research our various themes! Looking forward to seeing what you
have done with the letter ‘E’
Bye for now
Jane xx
Wonderful! You could copy your tag and make bookplates!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful calligraphy, Jane! I have been inspired to get a book on calligraphy out of the library, as I love your lettering. I am just going to look at the book, not do any at the moment!
