No problems this week, it has to be Lavender. Such a wonderful essential oil. It has been used in healing for time immemorial. It soothes the spirit, relieves anger and exhaustion, and balances the Central Nervous System. It brings down high blood pressure, is an effective remedy for insomnia, helps with muscular spasm and is very beneficial for the respiratory system. Good for menstrual problems such as scanty or painful periods and is also helpful in childbirth in speeding delivery. On skin it will promote the growth of new cells and has a balancing action on sebum. Very good for the healing of burns and sunburn it also minimises fungal growths, swellings and scarring. Finally can be beneficial for cases of alopecia and as a general hair tonic. Phew, how can we do without it?
For my tag I embossed a piece of lacy printed card and swiped lilac and purple distress inks over it. Then I found the well known' Lavender's Blue' quote and punched a piece of purple card to mount it on. The Lavender is tied with pale lilac paper ribbon and the butterfly (which hardly shows in the photo, sorry) is cut from acetate, embossed with sparkly powder and sequins attached. Then a different piece of paper ribbon for the tie. I wish we had smelly-vision on the blog as I have taken the photo on one of my white lacy pillows next to my silk lavender bag..mmm heaven!
Looking forward to an 'L' of a time looking at this weeks works of art! Have a good one everybody. x
Very beautiful tag and colors! Would you believe I am allergic to lavender? :(

ReplyDeleteI love the smell of lavender in the garden but not the oils and scents you can buy for the house - odd I know. Your tag is another beauty Barb. I love the translucent butterfly.
ReplyDeleteSo very, very pretty!

Gorgeous tag again from you Barb. Lavender is one of utmost favourite garden scents. I have several bushes which I trim as often as possible and take it indoors to dry. I have lavender pillows too :0) Mo x
