Letter K

Hi Everyone!
Tuesday again already! Hope you have all had a good week. Have you made yourself a cuppa, so you can sit comfortably and look at this weeks tags?

K is for Kantha

Kantha is an embroidery stitch from the Bengal region in India. It is based on simple running stitch and stitched into layers of fabric for a quilted effect.
I used an Indian wooden stamp for my design and copied the pattern.

I have posted some information about Kantha quilting on my blog to add some background to the tag.

  1. What a beautiful effect Jane. Love the colours you used. And it looks simple enough, even I could do it, haha. Do you have a link to where it can be seen in detail please? :0) Mo x

  2. Hi Mo, if you double click on the photo it should come up larger. It is a macro photo so close detail! I will put a link on my blog where you can find info about Kantha too.
