Letter Z

Happy Tag Tuesday everyone! I love any excuse to stitch, and the letter Z just called to me "Zig Zag!"

I have a new sewing/embroidery machine, and this was a great time to try out some of the zig zag stitches.

You see, all I've ever had were basic sewing machines with maybe 15 stitch options. So to have a machine that has dozens and dozens of stitch varieties, and several just in the zig zag department is a whole new world for me.

Once I decided on zig zagging, I knew what I needed to sew. I've been upcycling my scraps lately in every way--art journaling, art quilts, and even clothing. So I had some fabric selvage edges laying around that I had made art lanyards with, and a couple of those scraps went right on the zig zag tag. (So it's actually a rag tag) I finished with a flower and some leftover trim from making a bellydancing scarf (yes, I've taken bellydancing classes!).

Here's a couple more photos, and I can't wait to visit the other tag artists! Thank you all so much for your kind comments last week and sweet welcome! What a wonderful group to be a part of. I love it!

  8. Every time I see one of your tags I'm tempted to pull out fabric scraps (to date I've always just stuck to paper). Wonderful tag - enjoy your new machine!
